  • Senate Redistricting Continues

    Following a ruling from the Florida Supreme Court issued on Friday, March 9, the Florida legislature will reconvene in a special session beginning Wednesday, March 14 to adjust the Senate redistricting plan passed by legislature earlier this year. The two proposed Senate districts for Escambia County were among 8 districts cited by the court as invalid and thus will be adjusted. The House redistricting plan was cleared by the court.   • News Release: Sample Ballots in the Mail

    Escambia County Supervisor of Elections David H. Stafford announced today that sample ballots for the January 31 Presidential Preference Primary are being mailed to Escambia County voters. The sample ballot includes a ballot image, the voter’s polling location, instructions on marking their ballot, and information on early voting, absentee voting, and voting on Election Day. A sample ballot is also available at EscambiaVotes.com. While only registered Republicans can vote in that party’s primary for President, all voters, regardless of party, can vote on the countywide EDATE referendum.

    The Escambia County Supervisor of Elections Office will be open extended hours – until 7:00 p.m. – on Tuesday, January 3 to accommodate citizens who wish to register to vote or change party affiliation for the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary election. January 3 is the last day to register or change parties before the January 31, 2012 election.
